In terms of quality, the shirt used by Design A Shirt is a tagless Hanes heavyweight 100% cotton tee. The shirt itself is bright white. Overall printing was very bright, crisp and solid, despite being somewhat muted when compared to the proof. The black and white text was impressive. The major printing flaw was the photo detail, especially the mountain shot, which lacks detail. There was also a small production smudge near the collar of the shirt. Overall this was a decent quality shirt.
This shirt would have been the most expensive at $22.67, if we didn’t have an $8 coupon to use for our purchase. After free shipping, the total cost was $14.67, the second cheapest of the services we compared. This was the one case where we got what we were expecting to get. Considering the fact that this shirt was amongst the best printed and is a good quality shirt.
From ordering to actually receiving our shirt, it took a total of 7 days, which was pretty much the norm. It was delivered within the promised timeframe, 3 days earlier than the latest date. The packaging was where Design A Shirt stands out from the competition. Our T-shirt arrived in a stylish, black branded bag bearing the Design A Shirt logo and the tagline “WARNING: This package contains awesomeness”. An order summary was included in the package.
We liked the ordering process for Design A Shirt as it has a fairly easy editor with tons of features. You can resize images, but the image resizer was a little tricky to use. Another plus is that it has a great feature called IDEA Gallery, where you can find neat premade templates.
